Survey for Induction Programs

The CATIE Center has a new grant project, “Dive in: Building Skills and Confidence in Interpreting” which is designed to prepare novice interpreters to work in employment settings. Part of our design is to help novice interpreters find opportunities for entering the field through programs designed for onboarding new interpreters.

If your organization or agency has a program for novice interpreters entering the field, please complete the following survey. We will be creating a searchable database of programs for novice interpreters. We believe this will benefit both novice interpreters and organizations like yours who are seeking to recruit new interpreters - and ultimately better serve people who rely on interpreting services.

This description will be displayed to the public.
Target Audience for Program(Required)
Select all that apply.
Please describe the deadlines for application, if any. Is your program based on an academic schedule? Is it seasonal? Is it on-demand? Do you have rolling admission? etc.
Describe the duration of the program. If it is variable, describe the variables that would influence the length of the program.
Type of Interpreting(Required)
If your program has a webpage that describes the staff, please put the URL here.
What is the geographic area of your program?(Required)
Please choose the one that best describes you. You can also enter exceptions and additions in the description box below.Regional or multi-state would also apply to large metropolitan areas like NY/NJ, DC/MD/VA, etc.
If you chose National but there are exceptions, please describe the exceptions. If you entered Regional or multi-state, single-state, or local, please enter ALL the states that you operate in. For each state, spell out the entire state AND use the two-character abbreviation (example: "Maine (ME), New Hampshire (NH), Vermont (VT)" so that people searching on the state name can find your program. If you are a local program operating only within a certain area of a state, you should still list the state using both the full name and the two letter abbreviation (see above) so that people searching can find your program by location.
Is there a fee for application, or for joining the program?(Required)
Is there an opportunity for doing paid interpreting work in the program?(Required)
If your program has a website, please list it here. If there is no website for the specific program, then please list your company/agency website.

Please describe the mentoring opportunities available. If you have a link to a webpage that describes this, please put it below.
