In this activity you will define and build toward sight translation practice.
Instructions for Activity:
Sight translation is rendering an interpretation of text written in source language into target language. Sight translation is often requested of an interpreter during an assignment.

Letter on Bullying Policy
Dear Families,
At its July 22 regular School Board meeting, the School Board of Broward County passed a policy prohibiting bullying of any student. We are confident that the best way to create a positive school setting for all students is to have a safe place where all students can feel good about themselves.
Our anti-bullying goals this year are to teach students skills to deal with bullying, to teach students to identify bullying when it is happening to other students and when it is happening to them, how to react, how to defend themselves, and what to do. For example, one thing to do is to tell an adult, or tell other students to stop that kind of behavior, or both.
As you know, bullying can take different forms, not only physical such as hitting, it can be calling someone’s names, or tossing and spreading falsehoods about another student. It can cause a student to feel insecure about themselves to stop going to class, and to withdraw. Bullying hurts students and does not allow them to develop academically and socially.
The goal of the school is to help students understand their responsibility, how to defend themselves and others. We want parents to be involved in this type of training with the end result being that, in school, all will be in an environment in which they can learn and feel fulfilled.
